Bear scouting spots--natural food updates

Recommended Posts

Any one out scouting and seeing lots of natural foods. Out looking and seen lots of rasberries that were ripe and small. Should be on the tail end of them this week tho. Seen lots of Plums( lots and big) Real green and hard yet to. I got my bait site cut open and the tree trimmed right on the very edge of it. I mean looking down out of the tree you can see bunches of them..Really drying up FAST to..

At our place there's been a ton of Juneberrys, will soon be lots of plumbs, chokecherry's and cranberrys...dogwoods are just full of berries and there's going to be lots of hazel and acorns too! We picked about 7 gallons of juneberrys about 200 yards across the field from our house and last Friday, when I sat down on the deck about an hour before dark to enjoy a cocktail, here strolls out about a 500 pound bear heading for one of our juneberry patches!! I'll need to trim one of my pine trees just a little in the front yard to assure a good shot at him when season opens...about that time the plums should be good and ripe! smile

Things are drying up fast. With that in mind I think I am going to hunt the middle of sept.I see that there is a cool down coming the beginning but supposed to get hot again after. This hot stuff really burnt up the naturals all over I bet..
