Brookies And More Brookies

My friend John Armstrong was up from Georgia the last couple days.

We fished in the morning until 9:30am two mornings in a row.

He was using a hare's ear with a bead....with some flash on the back.

He caught 20 brookies from the exact location pictured and did not move an inch from that spot.....roll casted all day in tight quarters.

I let him have every hole first.....

He didn't drive all the way up from Georgia to watch me fish.

John was a guide at a local fly shop that now is closed. He managed the store for the last 8 months before it closed.

John is the best fly angler I know.

In two mornings we landed 46 brookies and 2 browns total.

I used a panther martin all the time.

What a great time! Guess I'll have to get my fly rod out of storage and try a Panther Martin! How big were those fish?

went to the same hole today and spanked the brookies again.

No gill lice.

I typically don't keep brookies.

Very nice! I plan to throw that exact spinner up in the high mountains this weekend for some native cutts and maybe some Brookies!
