Question

With the pricce of the open water ducer for the LX7 costing an arm and change, does anyone know if I can silicone a 4 inch pvc to the floor in my lund and drop water and the ducer into the hole like I could with my vex? I dont see why it wouldnt work, just wondering if anyone has tried it.

i do it on my lx1 marcum all the time. get the smallest piece of pvc pipe you can. i believe mine is inch and a half about 3 inches high. i just siliconed it to the bottom free of ribs etc. works great i dont need much more gain either. if you go real fast sometimes it will be bouncy the signal intermittent. thats why i went to a smaller pipe size whatever fits your transducer. i always carry a old sock so when i'm done i put it in there to suck the water up. so i dont break the law works great hope this helps.

Hi Mr. Pike!

Sounds like an interesting way to keep your transducer portable and yet functional for the open water season. Just wondering how far forward from the transom do you have the PVC pipe and how you figured out the best spot for your boat?

Also, how do you like your G3 boat now that you've gotten it broken in?

Wishing you great fishing!
