ANOTHER Sprinkler System question...

Most cities will have limitations to odd/even days of watering, based on your house number.

As for watering times, soil, shade, drainage and other factors will enter in, but generally speaking, grass would like roughly one inch of water per week.

Take a pie tin and put it around the yard. Run that zone for a while, or until you have an inch of water in the pie tin.

Nozzles and water pressure will dictate some of the timing as well.

No need to water every day.

If you do the pie tin test you;ll know how long it takes to get one inch. Use that and break it into 1/3's. Set your system up for every other day. If it takes an hour to get an inch, then set your zones to 20 mins.

Set your system to start in the early morning closer to sunrise. You want the water to soak in or evaporate. If its too wet then you'll get fungal problems. If it runs during the middle of the day the water will evaporate before it soaks in.
