theif lake area

Heading up to the lake later this week, wondering about local conditions. Many geese around?

Cann't help you out on Thief itself,but I just got back from Roseau and the geese numbers are way down from this time last year. Talking to the wildlife managers there and they had the geese numbers at around a 1000 on the refuge.Northern birds had not shown up yet,even with the cold front that came through on friday. Duck numbers are also down for the same reason.They also had a very bad hatch up there with the birds.Hunting for us was just fair.
What was really amazing to me was the lack of hunters up there.Their just weren't hardly any at all!
