Dan Thiem
I took my youngest(twelve)down to the Mississippi backwaters.Wilcox Landing by Kellogg. He shot 20 times and killed two hen Woodies. An absolute great experience. The bonus was after duck hunting we went fishing. We got into some nice gills and some pretty big perch also. SEwalleye
Dan-Sounds just like my youth day hunt 7 years ago at wilcox. (It was the 1st youth day hunt). You can always count on your 2 woodducks down there. Did you see much else flying? Just curious about my old stomping grounds. We now hunt NW Minnesota, but until 2-3 years ago, strictly hunted down there. Give it another month and the ducks will be flying and crappies biting!! myzee13
Pretty slow in SW MN. My son shot 6 times in 4 hrs....no kills....he had fun though. He was 5/6 in identifying the birds he shot at...better than a lot of other hunters I know! It wasn't a total bust... we went back in the woods and shot a few tree rats.
