Removing Cigarette Smoke from a Leather Couch

Recommended Posts

So my daughter is moving out of her College dorm and into an apartment for school next year. One of her roommates purchased a leather couch. Thing looks great but it must have been sitting in a cigarette factory testing room for years. Anyone have any ideas how to get the odor out? I was thinking of building a tent around it and fogging it with some kind of deodorizer. If not the fire pit looks good,

I'm guessing the fire pit idea. If the smoke smell is that bad, it has penetrated all of the foam and any other paddding materials. You may be able to lessen the odor, but almost impossible to completely eliminate it.

If you know someone with a Ionizer generator, your tent idea would work great. I have one and have used it many times to get rid of unwanted smells. My 4Runner smelled like wet dog until I gave it a 4 day treatment with the Ionizer running continuously with the windows shut. The smell has never came back.
