All my spinning rods up to this point have been built using the new guide concept. That's where you align the first few guides so you see the "bullseye" effect. Those have all worked great and provide benefits vs. the typical factory cone-of-flight guide placement.

With the Microwave guides, you don't really get any more distance or accuracy compared to the NGC method but it does cast noticeably smoother. Take a look at American Tackles HSOforum, it describes everything about the system.

Love the epoxy ramp Chad, very nice. I need to ask, and I'm sure everyone does it differently, but when applying epoxy to the threads how to you make the excess epoxy so straight? I've had problems here and there keeping a nice even epoxy line when applying.

Just thought I'd ask, Thanks!

Tom, thanks again.

Jon, after I apply the epoxy to any decorative wraps or in this case the ramp, I always brush the epoxy lengthwise. I'll start on any given axis, then brush the epoxy from one end of the wrap to the other, in one continuous stroke. Then I'll rotate the rod a little and do it again. I repeat this process until I've gone one complete rotation around the rod. Then just set it up on the dryer.

I'll normally use a minimum of three coats of epoxy using this process. Next time you're over I can show you how really easy it is.
