LCX104 to HDS10 Data Transfer

Hoey

Question

I am trying to move my waypoints from an LCX104 (vintage 2002 or so) to a new HDS10. Using an 8GB SD card, the LCX does not recognize the chip. Is it too big? Any suggestions?

I am finding this out. Was at the C store on Monday inquiring about this. My take-away answer was use a chip 2GB or less. Went home, tried it, no go. So I took both units and the chip back to the store on Tuesday. They tried it, no go. We grabbed a new 2GB chip, no go. So now I am looking for a less than 2GB chip, right in line with the SD vs SDHC.... Thanks for the help. I will let you know how the next shot at this goes.

If you get desperate, I have a 512MB SD card that I could clean the pictures off and let you use it. I typically just buy a new card when the old one fills up. That way I have another level of backup.

So that is why I have a 512MB full of pictures. You are welcome to use it.

Like all cards of that vintage it is full size SD, not micro.

Problem solved. Needed to be a SD (1GB or less), not a SDHC (high capacity). Used a 1GB card. The card was recognized right away, file saved quickly,i.e. in seconds, and was only 12kb in size or so. Thanks for the help.
