Guest
Reply on its way. Like I said, you'll have to get there EARLY. I'd even consider sleeping out there overnight, at least that way you can find your spot during daylight. Otherwise 2-3 am would be a good bet. Early yes, but if you want the best spot on a really good goose spot......
duckbill
Hello All,I know that this is very late notice but I just ran into a very bad situation. I have had a cut oats field locked up to use for over a month from a farmer in Waverly, MN. The farmer told me that his brother-in-law wanted to hunt with us but it would only be him. So I went to meet him last Sunday and he told me that he was bringing all these people along to hunt with him. He never told the farmer anything about this. He went on to tell me that if we wanted to hunt with them that we would need to hunt in his spot in the field that they wanted. Needless to say at this point I could see where this was going. After meeting with him I called the farmer who owned that land told him about this situation and he was upset and embarrassed that this had happened. To make a long story short. I have no field to hunt in and there was a family feud started. The worst part is that I had 4 of my buddies relying on me for the field and now we don't have to place to hunt. If anyone knows of a field that is not being used please let me know. I may even be willing to play out some cash if it comes down to that. Sorry again for the late notice.Duckbill[This message has been edited by duckbill (edited 08-31-2004).]
duckbill
Tom -I would like to thank you again. It would be nice to get out there and hunt but one of the biggest issues is the about 90% of my decoys are shells that can't be used on the water. I am still hoping for a last minute prayer that we will be able to hunt some land.Duckbill
stayman79
So Tom...about this great spot? I'm looking for a good early goose spot, only own a few goose floaters and have struck out on getting on land. My dog and I are able to head out on Tuesdays since I have that day off. Weekends are full, but at least on Tues. there's no crowd. I'd love a tip if you're willing to share, my yellow lab would love to bring in some canada's (his 2nd year). I understand of you can't share your spots with all of us though. Thanks!
Guest
Yea, its kinda the old "Ye who asks first" kinda thing. Really dont want to send too many people there as the locals will have my head.Clue- It's within an hour of Willmar.
stayman79
Within 1 hour of Wilmar you say, that narrows it down to about 1000 bodies of water!! I guess I'll have to check them all I'll be out on some slough and we'll find 'em (hopefully). If nothing else, great time to scout ducks!Good luck, only 2 1/2 more days!
