MinnesotaMike
I have an older Murray 97', runs great but on my last cutting last year it was acting funny, not having the power to go up a small hill. The motor is fine I was thinking it is the transaxle. I took the deck off this weekend to have a mandrel replaced and while the deck was off I started the motor. When I have the break/clutch pushed in it sounds normal, when I let it out I hear a noise from the drive shaft of the motor and the mower does not really move. The axle pulley has some play in it but not alot. Do you think this is a transalxe issue or a bearing going out in the motor?Lastly, any one know of a repair place I can take it to?Thx, Mike

jentz
In the owners manual there should be a paragraph or two of how to adjust the forward speeds.Try that before you take it in.
