Was fishing the croix for pan fish and a guy in a Lund told me bass season is not open yet. Got a ultra light rod with gulp minnows. The guy was trolling shad raps for white bass. So do people assume bass boats = bass fishing all the time? I would assume he was walleye fishing but what do I know. I just wanted to burn some old fuel.

No ice. River is nice now, slowly rising. Few floaters so you'll have to look ahead or slow down. Not worth arguing with any body when the day was so nice. Was just nice to be out and enjoy the warm weather.
