Transducer protection/ shield

With transducers getting expensive and with skegs on trolling motors hugging the prop instead of being in the front, I have dinged up my transducers lately. I've found the Wee Vee which is basically a metal bar on hose clamps to take the hit. They also make a plate with a cutout that transducer fits into. Looks like it doesn't protect much. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Sorry if this is a repeat.

What kind of ducer do you have?

The Lowrance Elite 7- HDI. The TD is wider and maybe a little longer than my previous Lowrance TD's. I've heard there is a plastic mount that will snug it up right next to the trolling motor keeping it out of the way. The plastic mount looks a bit flimsy.
