Humminbird PiranhaMAX?

Just saw a ad for a PiranhaMAX 176i, very basic depthfinder with basic GPS capabilities. The price is right, what do the GPS gurus have to say about this model?

depends on $$, i see HB 587 series at a very good deal also for less than 500

It's cheap, but not very useful in my opinion. It doesn't have a map chip slot, and apparently doesn't even have a base map installed. The chart display as shown on the HB HSOforum is pretty crude looking; just straight tracks so I wonder if you could actually record a trolling run and go back and follow it. Go to the HB HSOforum, download the manual and study it, then find a demo unit at a store and check it out before you buy.

After reading the online manual it seems to be lacking a couple of features that I consider mandatory, It does not save tracks or routes after power off, I can not name way points and I can not enter way points ahead of time and goto.

Wow, if it won't save waypoints and tracks, that's even worse than I thought. I wonder what market this thing is aimed at. I predict they'll have a lot of dissatisfied customers who find out they've bought something pretty useless.
