Battery Recomendation

The only real difference in a glass mat battery that I know of (OK it's been a few years) is, the glass mat insulates the bottom of the battery so as the battery gets older and partials settle to the bottom, the glass mat will keep the plates for making contact. Thus, they stay better, longer.

Just look for glass mat on the label. Most of the better RV/Marine batteries are. Even the six pack shaped ones.

i've had the Cab AGM's for five or six years now. They still work ok I am thinking of just getting new ones as it seems like i should. I mainly musky fish so i really rely on them. i would go through a set of interstates per year before that.

One of the things is they are not affected by cold, i leave mine disconnected in boat in cold storage.

My onboard charger does have a selection for AGM, and I have seen other charger with multiple settings for conventional and low maintenance or something. Not an expert so not sure what is the difference.

not sure if there is a big difference in AGM brands

It really varies, but I fish 20-30 days a year and use the trolling motor hard when I do fish. With the Delco Voyagers, I have never run out of battery for the TM, even in very windy conditions! I do take pretty good care of them, charging them immediately after use for the overnight. In the cold weather, I plug in the onboard charger overnight once a month.

St Paul Dan I also have all my accespries rigged up to my cranking battery and my trolling motor has a circuit all to itself.

I finally got my new batteries and thanks again for the info everyone.

I got some extreme series from batteries plus since I heard a some good things about them and the price was great. Interstates juste seemed like they cost too much more to go with for not getting a better warranty.

Anyone else shopping for batteries: batteries plus has a mail in rebate and a 10% off coupon on their HSOforum...adds up to a good chunk of change with 3 new 27 series.

Thanks again everyone!
