alumacraft3
I have a strike master 12 volt battery ice auger. I've had it 2 years and never had any issues with it until this year. I went to drill holes in my ice castle. The ice was about 3 foot thick and I had my extension on. I only made it through 3 of my 6 holes before it lost juice. I had to charge it for an hour with the generator to get the rest drilled. So the next morning we woke up to -15 temperatures and our holes had froze from the edges in all the way down to the bottom of the hole. It went from a 7 inch hole to a 6 inch hole over night. So I went to redrill the holes and it wouldn't do it. It would catch and about rip my arms off. It was full charged. Soi decided to hook it directly to a 12 volt battery with the same result. Do I need a new battery or is there something else I need to look into?
Finlander
I have the same problem, I plan on getting the auger drill made for the other Strikemaster electric auger called Big Volt which has single chipper which makes it easier for re-drilling holes. Goes around $120!
