Rainy River - 4 Mile Bay ?????

Have any of you guys ever hunted this area for ducks (American side)?

I am taking my kids up for a "Cast and Blast" trip over MEA and am not familiar with the area.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Try Bostic Bay. Did good there a few years back!

Move over around Pine Island and bring lots of shells. If the Bluebills are coming you will be in for an experience you will never forget!

I sure hope there are some ducks around then.

If not I believe we will still have fun catching walleyes and wacking a few Pheasants. I'm taking the kids to a game farm up there on that Friday .

We bring our duck gear with EVERY fall to the Rainy, just in case. We stay at Riverview resort generally the 3rd weekend in October.
We have hunted only one time, and that is strictly due to the fact that if you fish all day, and don't see much around(especially at sunset), we have chosen to sleep in. The one time we hunted in 4 mile bay, we didn't fire a shot. Actually, we saw maybe a couple dozen birds, and nothing close. The ducks have been non-existent on our trips up there for the last several years. I am sure timing has been a part of it, so I am not saying they don't shoot some ducks around there, but I have never seen much around during our stays over the last 6 or 7 years. Hoping this year offers up some birds though. The gear is coming with again.
