Guest
Good MorningI'm a long time lurker,I usually don't have much to say anyway. But as I was watching the geese land in the yard of our office building this little poem popped into my head so I though I would share.Concrete BlindHere I sit in the concrete blind.I’m taking a break from the office grind. As I look through the opening that’s covered in glass.I watch the fowl as they fly past.Wings cupped gracefully as they come down.I can’t believe I’m stuck in town!No decoys needed in this here blind. There’s ducks and geese of every kind.OH LOOK here comes a fat greenheadOn my call “come here” is what I said.My boss next door thinks I’m weird.Duck calls in the office, not good I feared. It turns into the wind and I draw a bead. With my pen I adjust the lead.My mind says I should pull the trigger now.I just wish my pen would fire somehow. The season opens in three daysMy boss just said I have to work anyways!p.s. I've never written a poem before in my life.Quigley
