6" Auger Bit for a SM Lazer Pro

Is it possible to put a 6" auger shaft on a Strikemaster Lazer Pro 3 HP auger? If it is, has anyone tried this method? I am very curious because I am looking to purchase a smaller bit for fishing panfish and also for punching through the thick ice a little faster.

I ran a 6" bit on a Solo 3hp for the last 3 years. I wouldn't say it was faster but a couple pounds lighter. Worked well, till I got tired of my partner drilling 3 holes to my 2 with his Nils. Now I have a 6" Nils and couldn't be happier.

Last year I ran a 6" Nils on my 3hp Strikemaster powerhead. I had to buy an adapter but it worked just fine. If you buy a Strikemaster 6" auger I'm pretty sure it would bolt on like your 8 or 10 does.
