Clam Command Post

borg0196

Question

One of the poles broke through the stitching, at a corner on the end. So when you go to "pop" out the end of the command post it won't stay popped out. I have another corner that's showing some wear as well. I have only used it twice. Is anyone else having issues? Or know how I can repair it. I called customer service, who directed me to email the warranty department, who I have now emailed several different people all asking the same information. I figure it would be easier to just try and fix it myself at this point. So any ideas would be appreciated.

I got this one.. grin I've put a couple paychecks worth of time into fixing these things.

Get a good sharp stout needle, a decent pair of pliers and a spool of nylon thread. As you've noticed, the corner sleeves are not always constructed the best, and they're not that durable. Dragging hub houses around a bit can wear a quick hole or two, especially at these points. What you need to do is put a good amount of thread into this (while it is collapsed), stitching it up so the nylon thread is pinching the pole sleeve wherever needed to prohibit the pole from pushing through. It should be fairly easy, it sounds like the issues are all around the perimeter so you have good access.

Or, get a new one from CLAM. They'll most likely have you destroy the canvas by cutting out the logos and mailing those in and then send out new house.
