duckbuster
The concrete floor is fine!! I have yet to go to a professional trainers kennel that had anything BUT a concrete floor. We have used concrete floors on every lab we have had, which goes back some 30 years. It has never been a problem. Remember or think about what your dog does when your not around. It is either laying in his dog house or is laying down on the floor. Generally speaking they don't pace back and forth. I would not use anything other than concrete. Up keep is far easier as well.. Guest
I use treated plywood. I put 2x2 green treated underneath to get the plywood up off the ground, and that works real well. I attached the plywood to the lumber using deck screws, in case I need to replace it - which I only needed to do once in the last 6 years (one of the plywood sheets started splintering for some reason).Clean up is easy with a hose - and I generally put down some mild bleach solution every few weeks, let it sit for a minute and then hose it off to keep things smelling fresh.
