anchoring system?

What type of anchoring system do you use on your canoe. Tie off mount on the side? Anchor release system like old town and cabela's sells? Do any of you use a trolley type anchoring system on your canoe?

I like the idea of the trolley system and being able to use a drift sock off the side also but I am not sure what trolley system would work the best for a canoe? Any suggestions? Do you see it as not worth it with a canoe compared to using it on a kayak?

I put in a foot and use a 3.5lb anchor on 1/4" nylon rope. It works ok. A lot of times I have to get a little tricky with how I tie it off to get the canoe to drift the right direction in the current or wind.

You get used to moving your anchor from front to back depending on where the wind is coming from and your positioning to your spot.

Depends...are you talking about in the BWCA? Or drive-to lakes that you happen to be fishing in a canoe?

Should of been more clear on that. I was thinking more about the lake fishing aspect.
