Catfish through the ice

I have never fished for cats through the ice, whats the best strategy??? I was going to go to a 25-30ft hole on a river by my house and use some of my cut sucker I have left and use it on tipups right on the bottom...Any info on where cats tend to hang out and how to catch them would be greatly appreciated thanks

When I went to my "Top secret spot" for Walleyes around 3. when I first got there I had a few good hits. Not to shure what they were.... But about 25 minutes later I had my bobber go down. Northland med. action rod spooled with 4lb test. riged with a 1/16 jig and tiped with a smaller 1.5" or so fat head. along with some 15"- 20" drum I was catching channels up untill maby 5:30. I cought around 4-5. 2 I cept they were about 3 -4 lbs each. This was Monday night.
