How do you ice fish perch on Devils Lake?

In addition to the lures Jon's using, I've been catching jumbo perch at Devils Lake using a small Jigging Rapala (UV colors) tipped with a minnow head and dead sticks using small tungsten jigs tipped with live minnows as well.

The perch that I've encountered have all been near the bottom (within a foot). Jigging the Rapala for about 30 seconds and letting it sit completely still for 30 seconds has been working well for me. Don't be afraid to pound it off the bottom.

The perch move around alot but flats close to some kind of structure would be a good place to start. The past two weekends I've gotten them in 20 to 24 feet of water but I've read deeper as well and I've seen alot of houses shallower. Definite information about where the perch will be is difficult.
