Ice on OSAKIS?

Anyone know if Lake Osakis is open? I'd like to try one more weekend!

I scouted Osakis today, as I thought it would be ideal conditions for it to be full of birds. I was disappointed to see it all iced over. I could see most of the lake, with the exception of the extreme northern end, and all was frozen.

I did see birds near Parkers Prarie-- mallards and a LOT of geese! Most were feeding 3 miles N.E. of town. Heard reports from friends hunting out west that Marsh lake, and all of the others were frozen as well. A lot of lakes are 3 + inches thick, so I doubt many but the deepest will have much of a chance to reopen. Seems like the closer I got towards the cities, the more open the water was.
