Guest
Any one have any info on the conditions that have been up there for ice up or not? I hunt a slough in the area and am wondering if I am just wasting a trip as I am going to bring the decoys home, should I sleep in or get there for the morning hunt? the slough I hunt is by Carnelian(s/p).Thanks-Broncosguy
Borch
A lot will depend on the weather. The past two weekend we had to deal with ice. But each day it opens again. So far the report is for a warmer weekend. Meaning most larger sloughs will be open. We've been shooting ducks the past two weekends. Mostly northern birds. I got my first Goldeneye last weekend. There are no shortage of mallards, ringnecks and a few bluebills too. I'll be deer hunting. But the ducks should be flying. If you don't see much early don't dispair. We've had our best duck flights after 8:00 am. Good Luck!
Guest
Yes, I have noticed that. I did have about 15 blue bills come in at about 10 minutes after shoting was allowed last week, but water shot and still very dark and did not have glow sights, which I will get now as I have heard it helps a lot in the early light.
