need help with a S.M. auger please

hi i got a strike master lazer ultra auger for christmas with the TC2 engine it is used but looks like very little use. i put gas in it and put it on choke and on the second pull it fired up but it will only stay running for a few seconds and only on full or half choke. does any one have any idea what to do? idle screw up or down? or carb clean? thanks for any help and merry Christmas

I bet you just need to simply clean the carb, making sure to clean jets as well. Usually if you NEED part choke, it is just dirty carb. Others are more knowledgeable than me though Good luck!

you could try adjusting the carb first, if aint helping then of to the shop it goes. But i think you have to open the screw more, so you get some more mixture, just play around with it, open more, or close it, you will have to decide on whats better, just make it run smooth! And listen to how it runs!

brad i just opened that file and it is for the solo series so if you do have the one for mine that would be awesome

email has been sent. the one is the 1998 copy of the service manual and the other is the 2005 copy.

Did you remember to vent the gas cap, I've forgotten once in a while and that is how my old trusty cobra acted until I remembered to vent the gas cap
