The Chemist
Try to the west. Between Hwy. 55 and 23. And also West on 22 from 55. I can't give specifics because of where we hunt but get a public land map and do a little driving. I found alot of got spots driving along the country roads. That was before I was allowed to hunt full time w/ the group I hunt w/ now. Just a little note: most places that are public fill up early. 6:00am on opener is sometimes not early enough. And 4:00am during the season. I
Borch
While fishing I've been seeing a lot of ducks i the Paynesville area. You'll need to drive around. There is water everywhere this year. Keep an eye open for any flooded fields. They'll be hot, especially early season. I've also seen a lot of birds around Annandale. Many of them on Public land. Just be prepared for crowds. Fisher Dave
Ducks, ducks, and more ducks .. been seeing lots of them everywhere. Mostly mallards, woodies, teal, and gadwalls. Ive been scouting all over and dont think theres any area where I havent seen good numbers in the central part of the state. Look around closely .. they are there. They're not in large flocks yet but that will soon change quick when they are getting shot at. Going to be a good early season so long as we can keep them off the tiny potholes .. I hope they have the same hatch up north, if so it might be one of the best seasons in years ... we can cross our fingers.
