guyonacouch
Exactly what the title says. I've been using Berkley Micro Ice braid and really like the feel and sensitivity I get from it. I'm wondering if I might be spooking fish without a fluorocarbon leader. Thoughts?
Mike Stark
i run a fluorocarbon leader when using braid. i use a small swivel to connect the two lines. helps with line twist as well. if the water is very dark or dirty you could probably get away without it. muskE
I run a fluoro leader with all my braids. I like to tie Uni knots and run longer leaders.
CrewJones
i use all braided line the thinest one 4lb diameter, I do use a swivel if im jigging. I have caught many many fish and never lost one from a bite off. Maybe I have been outsmarted but I do not see any less results i fish next to people using normal line and it has not made a diff. but thats just me, and im cheap so every year i just unravel 2 feet and retie
slipperybob
Watch the fish behavior on your flasher. Different lines can make subtle differences in lure presentation. To a hungry fish, it's not gonna matter. To a finicky fish...sometimes it makes a difference.
PerchJerker
I run a fluoro leader with all my braids. I like to tie Uni knots and run longer leaders. Same here, a fluoro leader tied to my braids with uni knots, and longer flouro leaders. The only time I don't use a flouro leader is when I'm jigging for walleyes in darker water like Upper Red and Lake Of The Woods, then I might tie my jigging spoon directly to the braid ....
