Should I buy this RZR?

I have a friend selling a RZR 900 XP (?). As a buddy, I can get it for a song and 1/2 a dance. However, I don't want or need another "fun only" machine. Can these be used for anything besides trails? Can the pull my portable? Transport a deer back to the cabin? Yank that log off the road? I know it's not the brute my 700 Sportsman was but can it at least earn it's place in the garage?

I've just starting looking into these things but first hand knowledge from a current or past owner is worth it's weight in gold.

What are your thoughts?

You could do everything you mentioned with that machine. However, it is a sport utv and is specifically built for going fast, cornering, jumping, playing, etc.

While an RZR XP will complete those tasks, a Ranger would complete those tasks much better.

Doesn't sound like it would be a bad investment either way. If you buy it at a discount and don't feel it fits you could always flip it and get your money back.

I had an 800 rzr and it would pull anything you me too ex and with the extra weight you might be surprised what it does compared to your sportsman 700.

I pulled a 6x12 enclosed trailer with mine from spot to spot in the field behind the house with ease.the down side is the box is useless for hauling most things as it is small and odd shaped.

BTW. The market is strong for used RZR's. mine was a 2008 that I bought 3 years ago with only 80 miles on it for 8300. When I went to sell it with 1700 miles I put it up for 7000 and actually got a bidding war that ended with me actually getting 7500 for it. Never had that happen before.
