what type of fishing knot do some of you guys use to tie hooks for sunfish crappies walleyes...etc do you use like a trilene or a palomer knot... or any other knots. im just learning how to tie a good knot.

Especially if you're just learning the palomar is a great knot. It's easy to tie with light line and it holds tight. If you're tiying a leader on tie to the swivel first then the lure and you can use a palomar on both ends.

i use a palomar knot for everything summer and winter, its the only know i trust for my sturgeon and catfish gear

Ah that's easy, provided you've got good eyesight and nimble fingers.

Try tying one on a rapala or something if you want a PITA.

I always tie an improved clinch for mono and palomars for magic lines.

Palomar knot for most everything. Sometimes the Trilene Knot.

I use the trilene knot for everything. I guess the palomar knot might be easy enough for little panfish jigs. Anything much bigger and it seems like it would be a pain.

It's important to re-tie especially with light line (2 lb test). If I get lazy and don't re-tie my line will break where the line is looped through the jig's eye rather than at the knot itself.

Palomer for everything here.

The Palomar is essentially a slip knot and great for braids and overall utility. You will encounter challenges with lures with small eye loops. For those I use fast-snaps (with a Palomar of course).

Palomar and/or trilene

Palomar, started using this knot a couple years ago and now I tie everything on with it even the long swim baits. Big loop and snug it up.
