scent lok tote

Recommended Posts

Ok I have used scent lok for 3 years now, I have only had the medium weight stuff for mid to late fall. I just purchased 2 late season full suits. I have always kept my mid weight stuff in a air tight bag. Now that I have so much more and there is not enough room in my bag, I was thinking about buying two of those scent lok totes for 79.99 to keep all my gear in.

Question 1: Do you have/use these totes?

Question 2: if so is it worth the money and would you buy them again?

For the price I am leaning toward getting a plain old Rubbermaid tote for 20.00 that is big enough for all my stuff and just throw in a scent wick maybe earth or dirt smell.

What do you think?

The carbon in your suit will help adsorb unwanted odors when stored in an air tight container such ad the Rubbermaid. I suggest cleaning that prior though - the plastic often has a smell of its own. However, I would not store your activated carbon with earth or pine or other such "cover" scents. You would be defeating your purpose, as you'd be filling the pores of the carbon with these other odors, leaving less available for adsorbing human odor when you're wearing it. Do it for your regular hunting clothes if you want if you're not wearing carbon, otherwise don't.
