pikestabber
So last year I used about half of my edible collagen casing supply (smoked collagen, 19mm) for sticks, then I vacuum sealed and froze the remainder without really thinking about why I was freezing it or if that was even necessary. Will these be any good to use again, or will they be too brittle due to time in the freezer? How should they be stored? Vacuum-sealed, then kept cool and dry? What is their shelf life when properly stored? Indefinite? Thanks.
Scott M
We froze ours in water and they were just fine this year. We do this every year 'cause once you put them in water, I imagine they aren't the same redried. I don't know that as a fact, just telling ya that freezing them has worked just fine for us.
