best line for walleyes

what do you guys like to use for jigging walleyes? Does anyone like the crystal fireline? What is minimum # you use?

Personally I use 4 or 6 pound fluorocarbon. 4 on deadstick rods and small jig and minnow. 6 pound on heavier spoons and jigging raps or blade baits.

I use copolymer lines; 4lb for dead stick and 6lb for jigging. I've had good luck with pline, gamma and northland copolymer lines. I use 2 lb crystal for light panfish jigs and it works fine but I prefer the handling of copolymer or mono for everything else.

4# mono will do just fine in most situations. If you're planning on catching a hawg or two then up grade to 8#.

Ive been using 4 pound crystal tied off to a tiny swivel then 3 feet of fluorocarbon. Side by side this setup outfished my buddies that go with straight crystal all last season .
