cam white
The problem is a lot of the cases I'm finding wont fit rods up to 36" long except for the two I mentioned. The striker one will but I'm a little skeptical of buying a soft case when I might have to make a 5 mile trek across the lake with a portable. That's why all the guys here went with the ice fishing innovations case. Will fit rods up to 40", and bullet proof. One guy accidentally drove over it with his truck, not a problem. swmndeerhunter
I have the ice fishing innovations case and it works great. I you take out the 3 tackle boxes you can have rods up to 39" in there. I currently leave the tackle boxes is and have one 36" rod in there. Other than that mine are all 32" or 28" and fit great. Things a beast and a little on the bulky side. Other than that the only downside is it is made for the reel to be on the left side of the rod. I have all mine on the right, so I had to do a little modification to get it to work. Did that over the summer so haven't been able to try it out yet. I'd recommend it to anyone though cuz not only does it carry rods, you can have tons of other storage. I have 6 tackle boxes, my headlight, tape measure and a second hook out all in there. BoxMN
I have otter and like it. I wish it had "square" feet on bottom, so when set it down, handle up, it stood better. What I do, is use rods socks and then it is easy to stack 5 rods in without any of them overlapping each other. Can almost do 6, but then they start to overlap, which with the rod socks make it so it doesn't matter I also keep my Gulp jars in there. JIM C
I use the Otter box too, and put my rods in sleeves. Bullet proof...Jim Carroll NPAA #
