Eagle in the Sax Zim Bog - Taking Flight

Melissa Neibache

Recommended Posts

I grew up in Meadowlands and was home for a visit yesterday and caught some pictures of a Magnificent Eagle! It was large & keeping watch over the highway as the hunters drove past.

It sat for the longest time & I was directly in front of it and then it flew off over my head.

Beautiful creatures! full-41111-26550-img_11163.jpg

Love the high key look on the in-flight shot Melissa!! Both are great shots and very sharp with lots of detail. I have to get up there and take a few eagle shot one of these days.

They always seem to find little tasty things to eat that the hunters don't want when they get done cleaning there deer winkgrin

When ever I go to the Bog I expect nothing and that way everything you see is a bonus. Just hope the Northern Hawk Owls are around this year. Last year was so disappointing but I think this year will be different. I have never had Pine Grosbeaks and Redpolls this early and they are sticking around the house.

Nice pix!

Yep, I've had plenty of siskins, redpolls, pine and evening grosbeaks and even a shrike the past couple of days! Ran into a GGO in the Superior National Forest last week! Does seem like the winter birds are getting an early start!
