You know the rut is on when a Three Legged Non Typical 8 is chasing Does at 10am

My buddy Scott shot a 5x3 in his backyard with his 870 at 30 yards.

The buck is missing almost the entire left rear leg below the knee.

Did not stop it from chasing a doe.

Scott took one shot with his 870, hit it in the neck and the buck sommersaulted forward since it was at a brisk trot chasing a doe.

Buck was DRT.

That was a very unethical shot he took..........

Probably tagged it with somebody elses tag while party hunting too.......

...........likely lost his leg from a hunter doing a deer drive with an AR-15 and a banana "clip"!

Yes, pics would be nice smile I seen a couple crazy deer yesterday in the south metro. 2 were chasing a doe in the middle of a gravel road in Dakota County. The the bigger one stoped, turned and tried to spear the second, the doe ran for her life! It was awesome. Funny how these bucks hang out all year. But when the does come into heat. They will kill eachother.

Not sure what makes this Rut behavior so unusual. Seems like you're describing me and most of my friends during our teen years. You could possibly substitute pimple-faced for 3-legged, but even that may be unnecessary. Great story. I don't deer hunt, but I deer camp with the best!
