gd44
The state campgrounds have closed in the area and I am looking for a place to camp in the Ortonville or Lac Qui Parle area. I was recently out there and I know there are a couple on Marsh Lake but I am unable to find them through any search. Does anybody know if any campgrounds are open in the area and have any contact information? Also if you know any rates for them? We don't need electricity but it would be nice to have. Thanks. bignet
I live in the area and a really good place to stay is the Appleton city park there are electric hookups shower rooms and a cleaning shed rates are really cheap and its a half a block from the paddle bar bring a fishing rod and catch some walleye on your down time
Cheetah
Most hunters stay in the Appleton city campground, but it can get crowded some weekends. The Ortonville city campground closes super early in the year, like some time in September I think. I have pitched a tent there quite a few times while bow hunting over the years and never been hassled. One time I rolled into town super late and was sleeping in my car near the gas station for a few hours before I went out hunting. That was the only time the local police hassled me and said I couldn't park and sleep there.
carpshooterdeluxe
appleton, either the city park or call shooters, they used to have a small campground right at the bar.Watson Hunt Camp has RV/camper spots available; There is a county park right outside watson on the chippewa/watson sag that might allow overnight camping, I can't remember for sure, but a call to the chippewa county parks dept would probably be a good start.Otherwise there should be some campgrounds open along big stone lake.
