Fall walleye shore fishing???

How do we know he's talking pool 2? I can't tell anything other than he fishes in MN.

If you're around Lake Minnetonka at all, the channels are doing pretty good right now after dark. Glow bobber and shiners. Red glow or blue glow ice fishing jigs like demons will get the job done for you. Fish them just off the bottom.

The river is about as good of place as any right now for both size and numbers. Look for eddys, wing dams or rip rap sections of shoreline to be holding some fish.

Another option would be to fish the channels between lakes or public beaches are an often overlooked fall option.

As some of the posts above have said the rivers and any kind of narrows in a lake should produce.

Beaches are a goldmine to fish all year. They usually have a very distinct weedline for the swimmers to enjoy a safe, clean area. Years ago I waded one (in the summer) with the wind howling into the shore. I had white caps slapping me in the face but could not keep the fish off my line. I presume the wind was blowing all the baitfish into the "open" and the feeding frenzy was on. Besides on the big V this fall, it was the best outing I ever had.

Public beaches? I have never thought of that. Why would that be a good spot considering it has not structure down below.

Nice clean sand and a little bit of gravel will attract baitfish like shiners and small perch.

One of the best big fish spots I know is just off a public beach on a backwater section of the Mississippi.

Wow I shall keep that in mind one of these days and try it out. I went to St. Croix (wayside scenic) and got no bites. Came back to the energy plant channel and skunked out too. Stopped by Hudson dyke (spelling) and nothing.

Feel like I should call it a year. Maybe I'm fishing too early in the day and should wait for sunset. Just gets cold quick these days.
