Custom Jigs and Spins Tungsten!

So much like most ice fishing companies, another well known jig manufacturer is coming out with Tungsten jig. I personally love Tungsten so I'm happy to have more of a selection and variety. If I'm not using some type of spoon, I am using these 90% of the winter. It looks like CJS is filling their vendor and distributor orders first and then they will be available on their HSOforum. You can sign up for an email update on their HSOforum and when they become available you will be notified. Now just bring on the ICE!

I started using tungsten last year and won't go back to lead. They are more expensive, but totally worth it. I can get my jig back down in the fish in no time and the added weight helps control the jig spin. Amazing how the difference in weight feels, especially with a spring bobber. You can feel the fish breathe on the jig. smile

I also have alot of fiskas, I think they are my fav. I like the Skandia ones too. Tried some Northland ones last year, but I'm excited to try a couple of new brands this year (I heard Northland is releasing a new version too). I won't switch back either, I love how fast they drop and I love the feeling of them on the end of my line - sensitive.

Got a lot of these "perch" fishing for perch with tungsten last year. That little orange dot in the corner of the hole is a 5 or 6 mm ladybug. Would be fine with the same weight maybe a little bigger......something like a 7 or 8 mm with a size 6 or 7 hook would be deadly with the eyeballs. You can get some sweet action on plastics and live bait in deep water with the big T.

Saw some at FF a few days ago and picked up a few to try. Yep, love the tungsten...which they had larger ones though....well, at least with bigger hooks.

From jumping the gun a little early the last two years, I was under the impression that FF didn't change over to their Ice Fishing stuff until hunting was well over. Which FF did you find had Ice Fishing stuff out?

St. Cloud. There still were some open cards slots and not everything was out yet, but would say well over 75 percent. Sheels looked pretty good to go and....... um ....yeah....then there was Gander. Down to two small isles with just a few of the big players stuff ...limited selection of that as well.

Oh okay, thanks. Yeah Thorne Bro's here in Blaine is my first stop since they change everything over in October, then Gander was the next one around here last year. Then Fleet Farm around Christmas time at the latest. I was speaking with the sporting goods manager last year and asked when the Ice Fishing stuff would be coming out - this was in early Nov - and he laughed at me and said not til all the hunting is over and atleast til the calendar's turned to December.
