Recommended Posts

This will be my 1st season truly tryin to harvest a deer with a handgun. Imma go with the Hornady's Lever Evolutions in 357 mag.

i know there's tons of good rounds out there, Just wondering what rounds everyone else likes when using a handgun?

Thanks and good luck everyone

I roll my own in two calibers. .44 Mag and .357 Mag. For the .44, I use a Speer gold Dot 240 grain, DCHP. And for the .357, a 170 grain DCHP.

Both are specialized hunting bullets that will expel most if not all it's energy into the target. Limit my shots to about 75 yards (perfect for my area) and I'm good to go! I've intentionally left out my load data as both are loaded "a bit" hot. shocked
