ski skins for aftermarket skis

I got a pair of aftermarket plastic skis that are not that wide... If I bolt on a pair of wider ski skins will I get the floation that I want or should I go and buy wider skis?

I've never heard of anyone putting a skin on a plastic ski, but if all your trying to do is make the ski wider, it should work for you and it's a lot cheaper than a new pair of plastic skis.

you know the more i think about it I wonder if it could be a suspension set up problem? In deep snow it seems that the front end wants to sink, I don't like that and I want to fix it... any answers for my problem? can I adjust the limiter strap to help with that? I know if I do that then the steering will be affected... but on a hard trail it seems to "jump" all over the trail and find the groove of another sleds skis...
