96trigger
Well, I am getting closer. Things are falling into place rather nicely. Still have no idea what to do for caster wheels. I have looked all over, they are either junk, or cost more than I have in the whole machine.
96trigger
The tires that are on there right now won't work. They are too high. The pivot point is perfect. There is very little strain on the wheeler and the winch lifts it easily. I have thought about trying it without casters but the winch falls down. There is another pivot point just behind the motor, I could probably try and make something.
slammer
Interesting. Will you be able to run the controls from ATV or not? It looks like it would take a large area to turn around? Fun to look at others ideas. Keep the pics coming and if we get snow, you can show some action shots.
96trigger
I won't be able to control anything except lift on the wheeler. The option for a control box will always be there. This is by no means a finished product. As for turning around, it will be a lot of reverse turns, not forward circles. It actually does not stick out in front as much as it appears in the pics. merkman
Great ideas 96 Trigger. I have started my "version" of this same thing... I actually purchased the exact same blower as you have there off an online list. I will be putting it on a 3010 mule though, so I don't have to worry about an undercarriage to support the blower since the mule can handle the weight. Gordie and built the lift mechanism last weekend. I have to save some coin to get the engine and electric clutch next. I will be going with an electric start 13 hp horizontal shaft engine to power the blower, electric chute controls ran off a car window motor, and wings on the snowblower to make up the difference in width. This is the lift mechanism in action. It slides into a front receiver hitch and will connect to a receiver hitch on the blower.
96trigger
I was able to blow snow yesterday with my 4 wheeler. Worked surprisingly well. I had a few design errors that I had to fix, but now that they are worked out, it really did a nice job blowing snow. The wheeler handled it no problem, very little weight on the suspension, no squat when the blower is lowered and very little when the blower is raised up. Snow was heavy so the blower didn't throw it very far, but the motor only bogged down where the snowplow left the piles, later in the night when it got colder it threw the snow much better and quite a bit farther. The blade on my other wheeler does a cleaner job, but it will be nice to know I have the blower if there are 4 foot drifts in my driveway. I will post pics of the whole project soon, might upload a video of it in action when I get a another good snowfall.
