renfenchamp Posted September 26, 2012 Share Posted September 26, 2012 ok guys i know its late notice but it was just opened to the public. a bunch of buddies of mine have a sturgeon tourney on the croix every fall and this year we have opened it to the public up to 25 boats and currently as of this post we have 13 boats entered here is the info.....Alright, here we go, first paid first served2012 St Croix Fall Classic Sturgeon Contest1. Contest Date is Sat 10-6-20122. Contest Time 12:00PM (SAT) to 12:00PM (Sun)3. Boundaries are from Taylors Falls down to the confluence near Prescott.4. Boats can use any launch5. Entry fee of $50/boat. Each boat may have 1-3 anglers. No more than 3 allowed Entry fee to be paid via PayPal to [email protected] you do not need a PayPal account to do this, a credit card transaction can be made without an account. For more info visit www.paypal.com6. Each boat will have a designated Captain; this captain will handle all financial transactions and fish entries. This captain can be any member fishing in the boat. At precisely 11:45 a control item will be released to each captain via email, text, or phone call. This control item will be used to prove the fish was caught that day and each picture must include this control item. Be sure to have a pen/paper handy in the boat.7. Maximum field of 25 boats8. Each boat will enter their one (1) biggest fish. 9. All entries must be submitted via the submission page on the KOTC HSOforum: http://www.kingofthecats.org/submit.html alternate entry can be made to [email protected] however all information submitted to alternate email must be complete with all photos and dimensions. If entry is incomplete, it will not be accepted. All entries must include the required 3 photos.10. The designated Captain will need to submit 3 entries. One with any member of the team holding the fish with control item, a second entry showing length of fish on a rigid ruler also with control item present and finally a 3rd entry with a soft tape around the fish showing girth. This picture must clearly show the length and girth of the fish (girth must be measured anywhere behind the pectoral fins back to the tail). Blurry photos will not be accepted. Be sure to get good pictures before releasing the fish. The fish length shall be measured per the MN reg book with tail pinched downwards.11. The winning fish will be based on the total score of length and girth. 12. All submissions must be received before 12:00pm on 10-7 any submissions received after the deadline will not be accepted.13. This is a catch and release contest. All fish (whether registered or not) need to be released. No exceptions.14. This is a 90% payout 10% will be deducted from the total for admin fees. 4 places will be paid back and will be 40%,30%,20%, and 10%. Total payout will vary based on the number of entries.15. Any tie(s) will be decided by a coin flip.16. The contest coordinator reserves the right to cancel the contest due to inclement weather or any other justifiable circumstance.
