Iron Cowboy
You are talking about carbide wear rods. Hyfax are the slides under your rear suspension. Yes, they do work extremely well but there are some factors to evaluate. Like your front ski pressure, controlled by your limiter straps. If you are studded or not. and horsepower. They sell the carbides in many different styles, there are different angles and lengths of carbide depending on your situation. Without knowing exactly what you want to do its hard to give advise on what to get. If you just want some bite on the ice for pulling the fishhouse at slow speeds 4 inches of carbide would do. If you want to be more aggresive you can go with more, for a price of course. If you want to give me more of an idea of what kind of rideing you will be doing I can give you a better idea of what might work best for you. Stiff
Actually, I think he is talking about something else. Some guys put a bolt straight through thier skis (sticking out the bottom) so that it kicks up loose ice shards when the snow gets thin. I remeber "Widetrack" talking about it on the LOW forum last year. I've never done it, but I've heard (like you) that it works well. There is also an after market product available that is designed for this.

Fish Toys
minnemanYou were talking about some scratcher’s that scratch the ice or hard pack and lubricate the Hyfax? I know my brother was talking about it one time or another. There is such a product to do this. Somebody on the forums should know? When the younger brother gets home I’ll ask him. He’s out in Pomona Ca. racing his sled. He is with a guy from Audubon that works for Team. This warm weather is enjoyable but hard on the little bit of ice we do have. I think I would keep searching for what you are looking for because one year I wish I had them.
