I can buy this Flasher new for $99 but don't know if it will give me the same performance of the Velixar or Lowrance you guys are using. Here are the specs:

Is this unit worth it or should I save another $200 for the "real deal"?

You will probably get a lot more advice from some of the real experts but I would save up for the "real thing". I have never heard of this flasher which raises a real red flag. I'm not saying they can't make one for that price but I would be very surprised. They don't talk about power or warranty. You won't be disappointed if you wait and get one of the name brand flashers. Just my .02

I usually get what I pay for. I have learned to buy the better equipment (more spendy), it costs more in the begining but it usually lasts longer and works better.

Its sounds like a gimmic. You can't beat the Vexilar,Zercom or Marum technology. Save your money and get something that's a proven. The extra money spent will pay for itself.

Also beware of some "oriental" companies, they buy old technology and parts, and put it into a new box. This is an old trick.

You might end up with a 25y.o. flasher that looks new.

I agree: "when the deal is too good to be true, it probably isn't"
