Hey all,

I got invited to go on a 2nd rifle season elk hunt in GMU 75 just North of Durango. I'm helping an older friend who is not as mobile as he once was. We're bringing in horses and wall-tents if necessary, however, he would prefer to bring his 38' camper/horse trailer for the creature comforts it provides. I want to hunt elk, not drive 24 hours to camp in the mountains:-)

Does anyone have any information regarding access to the area while pulling a trailer? We can go to a smaller horse trailer and do the tent for the base camp if needed. I would prefer it so we could get further in and off the roads. Obviously the weather will be a big determining factor in how far we can drive.

Anyone know where we should concentrate first to locate animals? I also drew a mule deer tag and have not shot a mulie for many years so I'm excited about that possibility also.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.
