leech lake bass help!

I would head to Horseshoe Bay where they have hauled all the bass this year so far. There have been approx. 5 bass tourneys already on Leech with 5 more to come. The bass are hauled to the Walker end of the lake so people coming to Boy or Portage aren't finding many fish. As most know, bass do NOT swim back more than a few miles from where released. The bass fishing has gone downhill in Boy and Portage with all the tournament pressure over the last few years. According to DNR 2012 permitting, there are more bass tournaments on Leech than anywhere else in Minnesota. I believe the DNR should limit the number. I have seen a few nice bass caught on the North end, but not in the numbers of the past.

I agree with Jake that there are too many tournaments on Leech and a lot of fish being hauled to other parts of the lake for weigh-ins. It's also probably true that fishing in Boy isn't quite what it was a few years ago. But there are still a TON of fish in that part of the lake, and still some piggies. You just need to cover more water than you used to, and branch out from the community spots that everyone and their brother fishes. Just my .02

This study doesn't seem to bode well for the bass fishery on Leech if the excessive tournament pressure continues.
