A Request From My Motorguide...

Recommended Posts

If you lose 50 yards of line in the lake...please do your best to recover it!

It's almost daily i'm pulling a large wad of line off the driveshaft of my trolling motor. This year has been the worst I can remember. And I rarely fish shallow water.

The most recent...a DT16 with 30 yards or so of what seemed like 8lb Power Pro. At least I knew right away, as the lure spun around with the prop. I'm sure this line snapped on the cast, and the user must have thought the lure would sink.

Likely, tomorrow, i'll find something new...maybe get a good lure out of it this time.

    • after watching the video i took another look at assembling it. decided i dint want to damage something. and more importantly didnt want to put it together wrong and hurt myself in the process. i'll pay an experienced person to do it!!!!!!1
    • The auto cocker is an acce$$ory that attaches to the stock & has a crank arm to wind. There's also a battery operated one , but even I'm not that old.
    • well that seems pretty simple!!!!!!!!! thanks ronnie!!!!!!!!👍   i do have the rope thing to arm it, gotta look if it is designed for the auto cocker!!!!!!
    • They're pretty easy to assemble I highly recommend an auto -cocker. An old dude can hurt himself loading to many arrow  " thingys" when practicing
    • cause its got an arrow thingy!!!!!!!!!🤗🤣 aany ideas of a place that would but it together??? maybe a place that if i purchased some more arrow thingy's some rage tips and a case??????/
    • Wait… why is this in the archery - bow hunting thread???   chuckle.   You guys are old enough it doesn’t matter.  Good luck with your new toys.   Yes, I know they’re legal for everyone now.  I heard from someone at a retailer they were selling at a rate of 6:1 to compounds.
    • Learned a bit about running completely on generator this summer.  Ice fishing we’re adequately covered with the Honda 2000 but the big camper is another story.   We went with a Predator 4550 inverter. Broke it in by spec and test ran it at home with everything on but on a cooler day.  All good!   First run on site was a hot day though.  By all accounts it SHOULDA been enough to run the A/C but we had some issues.  Harbor Freight even sided with us and exchanged our first one for a replacement.  2nd one did the same thing - over revved; overloaded and tripped out.   After lots of internet trouble shooting and talking with actual electricians and debating about upsizing, I went with a soft start kit.  Another $300 but yep, that was the ticket.  Runs smooth as butter now. Even better n my best hand in cribbage tonight.
    • Oak tree and May fly, sex season!    With stringy oak tree pollen sacks hanging all over everything, and dead May fly bodies stuck all over everything!  Throw in a few spider webs and you camper or cabin looks like a haunted house! 🤨 😆
    • i got this from a private party for $300.00  i do however need extra bolts, broadheads and a case yet!!!!!
