Rubarb

I want to reset some rubarb, some place I heard you should reset it in the fall. Was wondering if this is true? When reseting do you seperate the root stock or not? How deep?

Wait till after a good frost and the plant goes dormant.It can be divided as long as its a established plant and not new.Keep it or them watered good right up to freeze.

Fall is when I have done it in the past. I do not separate the root stock. I dig a nice area around the base and bring up the whole thing. I like to get extra dirt around so I am not disturbing the roots. I try to plant the same depth as you just dug out as long as the tops are not showing through the dirt. If they are, then dig a couple inches lower to keep them buried.

Remember after a re-planting, do not harvest for 1 year to establish itself again. You will be much happier with the yield.
